Loan Guidelines

SCFDC’s investment fund is funded by PrairiesCan under the Community Futures Program. All loans must be approved by the SCFDC Loan Committee.

SCFDC loans are made to new or existing businesses that:
  • Are located on or adjacent to a Southeast First Nation
  • Are being newly established or expanded
  • Pass a minimum of 10% client equity
  • Have community support in the form of a Band Council Resolution, or BCR
  • Demonstrate a viable plan to generate enough revenue to repay the loan
  • Will create jobs in the community

Loan Funds

Community Futures Loan Funds

General Investment Fund

Intended for general business loan applications that meet the criteria above.

  • Maximum loan per business: $150,000.00

Youth Investment Fund

Intended for youth 18-29 years of age whose business loan applications meet the criteria above.

  • Maximum loan per business: $25,000.00

Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Investment Fund

Intended for those living with a disability whose applications meet the criteria above.

  • Maximum loan per business: $150,000.00
  • Applicant must have a disability that affects ability to obtain gainful employment

Indigenous Entrepreneurs Loan Fund

IWE Microloan Fund

SCFDC also offers microloans up to $20,000 to Indigenous women entrepreneurs through the IWE program’s microloan fund.
